From the half guard

Mico palanca can also be applied from the half guard. This is a particularly effective position to apply mico palanca, as the attacker has more control over the opponent's leg. By using their other leg to hook the opponent's knee from behind, the attacker can create a very strong lever that is difficult to escape.
From the mount

Mico palanca can also be applied from the mount. This is a less common position to apply mico palanca, but it can be very effective if the attacker is able to control the opponent's legs.
