Size

The size of the meteor is a key factor in determining the amount of energy that will be released in the explosion. A larger meteor will release more energy than a smaller meteor. This is because the larger the meteor, the more mass it has. Mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object. The more mass an object has, the more energy it will release when it explodes.

The energy released in a meteor explosion can be used to calculate the size of the meteor. This is done by using the following equation:

$$E = mc^2$$ where: E is the energy released in the explosion m is the mass of the meteor c is the speed of light This equation shows that the energy released in a meteor explosion is directly proportional to the mass of the meteor. This means that a larger meteor will release more energy than a smaller meteor.

The size of the meteor that exploded over Tunguska, Russia, in 1908, is estimated to have been about 100 meters in diameter. This meteor released an energy of about 10 megatons of TNT. This is equivalent to about 1,000 times the energy released by the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan.

The size of the meteor that exploded over Chelyabinsk, Russia, in 2013, is estimated to have been about 20 meters in diameter. This meteor released an energy of about 500 kilotons of TNT.
