Key factors included the character's design, animation quality, and the overall execution of the film's premise. Was Sonic's Design the Main Issue?

One of the most significant points of contention was Sonic's design. Fans were quick to express their discontent with the character's elongated limbs, human-like features, and unsettling facial expressions. The design felt more like a bizarre hybrid of different influences rather than the iconic blue hedgehog fans knew. This led to a wave of memes and social media discussions, highlighting how far removed the character seemed from his roots.

How Did the Animation Quality Affect Reception?

In addition to Sonic's design, the overall animation quality played a crucial role in shaping audience perception. Many viewers noted that the animation felt inconsistent, with some scenes appearing well-crafted while others seemed rushed or poorly executed. Did the Storyline Contribute to the Negative Reception?

The storyline is another critical element that can determine the success of an animated film. Were Fans Disappointed with the Humor and Tone?

Humor is an essential aspect of animation, especially for family-friendly films. Unfortunately, the humor in the Sonic animation seemed forced and fell flat for many viewers. The tonal shifts throughout the film created confusion regarding the intended audience. Was it aimed at children, adults, or both? This lack of clarity contributed to the overall disappointment, leading fans to feel that the Sonic animation sucks in its first version.

Following the negative reception of the first version, the production team decided to redesign Sonic, leading to a delay in the film's release.
